Cody Robyn

Shihan Cody Robyn is co-owner and Master Instructor of Excel Martial Arts, co-founder of American-Te, and developer of various programs and curriculum, including the Special Needs Program.  Cody began his training in 1986 under the instruction of Steve Schatvet, at the age of 7.

Cody worked hard and became one of the most consistent and reliable brown belts in the school.  At age 15, he began assisting in all of the children’s and adult classes at the Norwood Dojo.  Having achieved his black belt in 1996, he was asked to take over the Mansfield Dojo with John Hagman in early 1997.

Cody RobynIn 2000, along with Vinnie Guerrini and John Hagman, Cody Robyn co-founded and developed the modern day American-Te Curriculum taking from traditional Japanese Karate, Filipino Arts, Nick Cerio’s Kenpo, and many more.

In 2003, now both 3rd Degree Black Belts, Cody and John took over the Norwood Dojo and completed ownership of the Learning Center for Martial Arts (now Excel Martial Arts).  Cody is a Master Level instructor of Kyusho Jutsu and a developer of Kyusho International under Evan Pantazi.  One of Cody’s most proud achievements is the creation of the Excel Special Needs program.  This program aims to instruct all students regardless of physical, social, or cognitive disabilities.  Students learn an adapted curriculum that teaches self defense, physical fitness, coordination, awareness, and self Cody Robyncontrol.

Shihan Cody Robyn continues to study and develop American-Te, trains and teaches Kyusho Pressure Point Fighting,  practices Filipino arts from Tom Sotis, and focuses on the newest art to Excel: Internal Arts/Tai Chi.

Shihan Cody Robyn is a Master Level Instructor and can be seen regularly at Excel Norwood.  Cody is the head instructor and manager of the Canton location of Excel.
